Frequently asked questions

Everything on this page reflects exactly how Homeschool-HQ works today — nothing here is aspirational.

Compliance & accuracy

Is this officially recognised by my state's registering authority?

Homeschool-HQ isn't officially endorsed by any registering authority — no compliance tool can promise that, since each state makes its own call on what evidence it accepts. What we do promise: every curriculum code mapping is manually matched and human-verified against the real ACARA, NESA, and VIC frameworks, so what you generate reflects the real curriculum language.

Is the curriculum matching done by AI — can I trust it's accurate?

No AI guessing. We manually translated thousands of dry, state-specific curriculum codes into plain-English, observable teaching activities, and every mapping is human-vetted, not machine-generated. AI is only involved in drafting narrative progress reports.

Which states and territories does Homeschool-HQ cover?

All of them: WA, SA, NT, QLD, VIC (VRQA), ACT, NSW (NESA), and TAS — curriculum codes are aligned to each state's own framework, not a generic national standard.

Does Homeschool-HQ tell me what to teach?

No. The app suggests, but you decide — you know your child's learning better than any algorithm. Homeschool-HQ translates what you're already teaching into the codes your state expects; it never dictates your curriculum or teaching style.

Privacy & data

Are my private notes ever included in a compliance report?

Never. Private Parent Notes are walled off by design — they're for your own reflection (and, if you choose, to hand to a tutor, OT, or therapist), and they never appear in anything generated for a registering authority.

Who sees what I log?

Every lesson you log quietly builds two separate things: the dated, curriculum-coded evidence for the state, and a private teaching record for you alone. Only you choose what goes into a report — nothing is shared automatically.

Billing

Why don't you offer a free trial?

Because free trials normally mean a crippled version of the product. We'd rather you use everything, fully, from day one, with your money back if it's not right. Same zero-risk outcome, better experience.

How does the 30-day guarantee work?

Email us within 30 days of your first payment and we'll refund you in full, no questions asked. Annual plans carry the same 30-day guarantee.

What plans are there, and what counts as family?

There are two plans: One Child ($19 a month or $190 a year) and Family ($29 a month or $290 a year). Every plan includes every feature; the only difference is the number of children. Both plans are for one household: the children who live with you and learn at home with you. One Child covers one child. Family covers up to 8 children for one price, never per child. A plan can't be shared between separate families, or used by a school, co-op or group.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Monthly plans cancel from your account settings, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. There are no lock-in contracts, phone calls or forms.

Using it day to day

Can I edit a log entry after I've saved it?

Yes, anytime — every entry has full history, so you can go back and edit or add to it whenever you remember something you missed.

What's the Family Album?

The same logs that build your compliance evidence also quietly become a keepsake: a monthly Nana Letter for grandparents, weekly postcard highlights, and a family journal — all code-free, built automatically from the lessons you've already logged.
