Privacy Policy

Homeschool HQ ("we", "us") helps Australian home educators log everyday learning activities and turn them into compliance reports, specialist-ready data, and family keepsakes. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how it's handled.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your email address, and a password if you sign up that way. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google — we never see or store your Google password.
• Child profile information — names and year levels for the children you add, entered by you.
• Log entries — the activity and lesson details you record, including curriculum codes they're matched against and any Private Parent Notes you add.
• Photos — any photos you optionally attach to a log entry as proof of work or for your Family Album.
• Billing information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment provider processes your card details directly. We don't store full card numbers ourselves.
• Marketing signups — if you submit your email on a public page (for example, to unlock a sample Year at a Glance guide), we collect just that email address, even if you don't create an account.

2. How we use it

We use your information to:

• Run your account and let you log in securely;
• Match your log entries against the relevant curriculum framework (ACARA, NESA, or VIC) and generate coverage statistics;
• Generate narrative progress reports and compliance-ready PDFs from your log entries;
• Build your Family Album and searchable learning history;
• Communicate with you about your account or the service; and
• Send you the specific thing you asked for (like a sample guide) and, occasionally, related updates about Homeschool HQ — you can unsubscribe from these at any time.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Homeschool HQ. We don't share your data with anyone else.

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and photo storage.
• Google — provides the optional "Continue with Google" sign-in.
• Anthropic — generates the narrative text in your progress reports from the log entries you write. Every AI-generated report is intended for you to review before you rely on it.
• Our payment provider — processes subscription payments if you're on a paid plan.
• Resend — manages the delivery of emails we send you, including any marketing emails you've opted into.

4. About children's information

Homeschool HQ is used by parents and guardians, not by children directly. Any information about your children is entered by you, the account holder, for the purpose of maintaining your own home education records. You control this information and can edit or delete it at any time from within the app.

5. Storage & security

Your data is stored with Supabase and protected by row-level access controls, so only you can access your own records. Data is encrypted in transit. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, since your log history is the core of the service. If you close your account, you can request deletion of your data by contacting us — some information may be retained where we're required to for legal or compliance-record-keeping reasons. If you've only submitted your email through a public page without creating an account, you can have it removed at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your log entries and child profiles at any time from within the app, and download any report as a PDF whenever you need it. If you have a request we can't handle through the app directly — including full account deletion — contact us using the details below.

8. Cookies

We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know directly.
